Professional Registered Dietitian

Registered dietitians must complete an accredited Bachelor degree of Science in food and nutrition or equivalent in recognized universities and obtain dietetic registration via post-graduated dietetics internship or master degree of related program. Since Hong Kong does not have local registration system for dietitians, dietitians mostly obtain their registration from foreign countries such as United Kingdom ( Health Professions Council/ Registered Dietitian/RD)、United States of America (Commission on Dietetic Registration/ Registered Dietitian/RD)、Australia (Accredited Practising Dietitian /APD)and Canada (Provincial Dietetic Registration/ Registered Dietitian/RD).There is also some local professional associations, for instance, Hong Kong Dietitians Association, is responsible for local dietitian accreditation verification ( Accredited Dietitian/ A.D.).
